Outdoor play is in full swing!

Have you tried playing on some of the newer outdoor courts?

Cottage Grove has 4 dedicated courts at Community Park

Sauk City has 8 dedicated courts at Culver Community Park. The courts should be open after Memorial Day weekend. To begin with the plan is to have open play from 8:00 am-11:00 am & 4:30pm until dark. After a period of time, they will reevaluate that schedule.

You can check out the CAPA website for more options for outdoor courts.

CAPA is moving to a new membership management system and website. CAPA membership has reached almost 1,000 and our present system needs updating to make managing your profile easier for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW!

As of today May 15th, all new and renewed memberships are on hold until June 1st.  This needs to be done so the team can transfer the membership list from the old membership system to the new. Because we receive new members daily, we are concerned that we would miss a member.

There will be a new membership rate of $15 per year.  CAPA membership is a bargain as a majority of pickleball groups have membership fees of $20 - $30.

With the new system memberships will go for one calendar year from the day you become a member.  As opposed to the old system where memberships ran from September 1st to August 31st.  To make this transition all members who have joined since January 1, 2023, would have their membership renewal dueone year from the actual date you joined CAPA.Members who joined prior to December 31st, 2022, will have their membership go through August 31, 2023. Whenever you renew, your new membership term will be one calendar year from the date of your renewal.

The old CAPA Website will go down on Saturday May 28th and the new site will be back up on June 1st.  You will receive an email when the website is back up.  At that time, you will be invited to sign-in to the new website and your own personal membership account, create your own password and update your member profile and privacy settings.

You will still be receiving all event sign ups as that is not affected by this membership system and website transition.

If you have any questions, please contact CAPA at pickleball@capareapb.com.

Thank you for your patience and continued support of CAPA!

The CAPA board hopes this finds you doing well! We are all looking forward to outdoor play soon!

Membership is continuing to grow.  We currently have over 900 members!

Remember a benefit of being a CAPA member is the ability to join the Madison Pickleball Meetup Group! If you'd like to find a place and time to play that works in your schedule, in addition to meeting new players, the Madison Pickleball Meetup Group is for you!   You need to request to join the meetup group.  You will receive a short email asking if you're a CAPA member and after you say yes, you'll be approved!

Our Meetup organizers offer different levels of play - Beginner, Novice and Intermediate - all season long. Because the Meetup group has become so popular, we are asking for members to volunteer to organize events at different locations. It's super easy to do! As an organizer, all you have to do is schedule a time and place to Meetup, welcome other members and play! It's a great opportunity to gather other players on your schedule!! Contact Shelley Reynolds to volunteer!

Wild Apricot? Gadgets? Online member directory? Stay tuned for exciting news for CAPA members coming in June.
